Shohola Glen

Can a place be personified to have emotions and a psychological unconscious to be explored? Is there emotional residue hidden within the place known as Shohola Glen? What if the narratives, memories histories and legends existed simultaneously in a space? What would it look like if traumatic elements could linger within a place? Can a place have a nightmare?

Part of the process in exploring this set of questions involved researching local legends/folklore/narratives as well as archived New York Times articles from the late 1800s, Several trips made to the location of the abandoned Shohola Glen area and former amusement park grounds, speaking with a local historian, and exploring different material processes.
